Robert MacPhee Obituary

Lincoln - Robert "Dennis" A. MacPhee, 87, of Lincoln, died Friday, February 23, 2024 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, surrounded by his loving family. Affectionately known as Dennis by his nearest and dearest, he was the devoted husband of Gail (Cooper) MacPhee, with whom he shared sixty-four beautiful years of marriage.

Born in Lincoln, a son of the late James Y. and Margaret (Schofield) MacPhee, Dennis spent his entire life in the community that he held dear. He received his education at the William M. Davies, Jr. Career & Vocational High School in Lincoln before enlisting in the United States Coast Guard. Following his honorable discharge, Dennis went on to work at the Lebanon Knitting Mills in Pawtucket and C & C Chemical Co. in Woonsocket. After his retirement, he helped his wife Gail in operating Walmsley's Fish & Chips, Lincoln, as well as buying and selling antiques.

Dennis was actively involved in his community as a volunteer firefighter and Warden of the former Lonsdale Fire District in Lincoln. An enthusiastic golfer, he enjoyed his time playing in the White Eagles Golf League at Chemawa Golf Course in North Attleborough, and commiserating with them at the Filibuster Club, Cumberland. He was also a longtime member of the Capt. Elwood Euart Post #602, VFW in Pawtucket.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori Scott and her husband Marc, of Gaysville, Vermont, and Wendy Jeffrey and her husband, Christopher, of Manville; and two grandchildren, Caleb Jeffrey and Lindsey Jeffrey. He was the brother of the late James E. MacPhee and Bruce L. MacPhee.

At the family's request, his funeral will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary, 266 Mendon Road, Woonsocket, RI 02895 would be appreciated.
