Lincoln - Paul E. Pichette, 82, of Old Louisquisset Pike, died Friday, February 23, 2024 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Gerard "Jerry" Gendron. Paul and Jerry had been together of fifty-six years, marrying eight years ago.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Edward and Yvonne (Lizotte) Pichette.
Paul worked as a sales representative for Cutter & Buck retiring seven years ago.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served as a photographer's mate with the Atlantic Fleet Photographic Group, based out of Norfolk, VA. His duty required him to travel a large geographical area, most of which was outside the United States. He was called upon to photograph a large variety of subjects. His assignments ranged from Astronaut recovery at sea to documentation of Navy life ashore in foreign ports.
Upon discharge from the Navy, he continued his love of photography, and was the official "family photographer". He took wedding pictures of all of his nieces and nephews, as well as many family events. He was a member of the Rhode Island Photography Association.
Besides his husband, he is survived by his sister, Pauline Bourdon of Woonsocket; his brother and sisters-in-law, Lucien and Jeanne Gendron and Germaine Antaya; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of the late Ronald Antaya and Sr. Adrienne Gendron, PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10:00 am in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Ambrose Cemetery, Albion. Family and friends are invited. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
