David W. Poulin

David W. Poulin, a loving son, respected brother, admired father, and beloved grandfather passed away unexpectedly due to a heart attack on December 20, 2023 at the age of 67.

Born on June 21, 1956, in Central Falls, RI, David is the son of Pauline Poulin and the late Roland Poulin. He resided in South Carolina since 1988, most recently in Bluffton, SC where he was near great-grandchildren and various golf courses to pursue his favorite past time. David is the father of Jeffrey Poulin and the late Mark Poulin. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan, Kaela, and Evelyn; as well as great grandchildren Tessa, Mitchell, Mariah, Sophia, and Brielle. His sisters, Elaine Oliver, Robin Campo, and Lynda Poulin, and several nieces, nephews and cousins share in the grief of losing their loved one too soon. While those who remain grieve, David is in peace and joins those who have passed before, including his recently departed brother, Paul Poulin.

David was a rock and support for his family throughout his life, through work and giving of his personal time. Most notably, David volunteered as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America for approximately 20 years. Through this role he shared his love for the outdoors, sport, collecting (coins and fossils), as well as sharing his time, compassion, and wisdom with numerous young men through scouting. From horseback riding and hockey playing in his youth, to rock climbing and hiking with his son and fellow scouts, through an often-frustrating amateur golf career, David lived and was also loved by many friends and family. What more can be asked out of life.

A funeral service honoring the life of David will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, RI. Prior to the service, you are invited to come and gather to sit with David's photo memories, visit his family, and tell stories from 12:00 pm until the service at 2:00 pm.
