South Attleboro - William R. Leach, 91, of River Drive, died Sunday, December 31, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice M. (Sweeney) Leach.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late James "Milton" and Mildred (Slocum) Leach, he had lived in South Attleboro for the past sixty years.
Mr. Leach worked as a production supervisor for Stop & Shop Supermarkets for over thirty years, retiring in 1994. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
He is survived by two daughters, Lori Sarazin of South Attleboro, and Donna Stomberg of West Greenwich; one son, William R. Leach, Jr. of Largo, Florida; one sister, Mary Ann Soave of Smithfield; one brother, Robert Leach of Florida; seven grandsons; four great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Mary Lou Bergeron; and the brother of the late Donald Leach, Mildred Johnson, Elizabeth Cassidy, Dorothy Corry and James M. Leach, Jr.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 10:30 am in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Sunday from 2:00 -5:00 pm.
