Walter Edward Foster, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2023, at his home in Lincoln surrounded by his family. Born on February 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter and Alice (McGowan) Foster. Walter lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his family. He was 86 years old at the time of his passing.

Walter was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Vivian (Gardner) Foster, with whom he built a lifetime of cherished memories and a strong foundation of love and support. Together, they weathered every storm and celebrated every joyous occasion, creating a legacy of love that will forever be treasured.

As a father, Walter reveled in the joys of parenthood and embraced the responsibility of guiding and nurturing his children. His four sons, Bruce, Walter, Wayne, and Jeff, meant the world to him, and he consistently demonstrated unwavering love, support, and guidance. Walter's nurturing spirit and kind heart will continue to shine through his sons as they carry on his legacy. He leaves behind cherished memories that will forever shape the lives of those he held dear.

Walter pursued a career as a machinist, utilizing his technical skills and strong work ethic to carve out a successful and respected professional life. He took pride in his craft, consistently demonstrating precision and dedication in his work. His contributions to his industry will be remembered by his colleagues and peers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara Foster

Walter's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of his loved ones and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his devoted wife Vivian, his loving sons Walter of Waynesboro, TN, Bruce and his wife Sheri of Lincoln, Wayne and his husband Paul Vermette of Delray Beach, FL, and Jeff and his wife Sandra of Bradenton, FL and his cherished 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, as well as his sister Shirley Simpson of St. Peterburg, FL.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to HopeHealth Hospice (www.hopehealthco.org), 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904 in honor of Walter's legacy.

Walter Edward Foster will forever be missed and fondly remembered for his unconditional love, his commitment to family, and his compassionate spirit. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
