W. Caryl (Pender) Murray

Lincoln - W. Caryl (Pender) Murray, 87, formerly of Lincoln, died Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Heritage Hills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late William Murray, Jr.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Thomas V. and Winifred C. (Durkin) Pender, she had resided in Lincoln for nearly sixty years.

Mrs. Murray worked as a licensed practical nurse at Miriam Hospital, and later at the Jewish Home for the Aged, Providence, retiring in 1982. She was a graduate of St. Mary Academy-Bayview, East Providence, and the Pondville Hospital School of Nursing, Walpole.

A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of Saint Jude Church, Lincoln, and a longtime friend of Bill W. Caryl relished trips to the RI shore, was an avid reader, loved tending to her flower garden, and enjoyed knitting as well as other arts and crafts.

She is survived by one daughter, Cara M. Murray of North Providence; one son, William Murray, III and his wife, Susan (Grann) Murray of North Kingstown; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Murray) Lozeau, Allyson Nicole Murray and Andrew William Murray; one sister, Marilyn Thornton and her husband, William of Clifton Park, NY; and one brother, Thomas Pender and his wife, Elaine of Flanders, NJ. She was the sister of the late Margaret Mary Pender.

Her funeral will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 at 9:00 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM.
