North Attleborough - Thomas J. Poirier, 39, of North Attleborough, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. He was the fiancé of Jessica Roberts.
Born in Providence, a son of Anthony J. Poirier of Cumberland and the late Joan T. (Bernier) Poirier, he had lived most of his life in Cumberland and Woonsocket.
Mr. Poirier worked in the construction industry for many years. An Army National Guard veteran, he served two tours during the Iraq War.
He enjoyed quahogging and watching the New England Patriots. He was a graduate of Cumberland High School, and was a member of Post 14, American Legion, Cumberland.
Besides his father, he is survived by his son Johnny; three sisters, Lori Poirier of Burrillville, Margaret Poirier of Scituate, and Jan Ann Poirier of Providence; three brothers, Michael Poirier of Cumberland, Mark Poirier, and his wife Andrea, of Johnston, and Kyle Poirier of Cumberland; and his nieces and nephews, Jacob, Victoria, Kaydence and Preston. He was the brother of the late Nathan Poirier.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Private burial, with military honors, will be in Resurrection Cemetery Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Operation Stand Down RI, 1010 Hartford Avenue, Unit1, Johnston, R.I. 02919 would be appreciated.
