Woonsocket - Thomas F. Meitvier, 89, formerly of Woonsocket and Missouri, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucy (Depault) Meitvier.
Born in Albion, a son of the late Alfred and Aurore (Benoit) Metivier, he had lived in Missouri for many years, before moving to Woonsocket five years ago.
Mr. Metivier was a heating technician for the Providence School Department, and had also worked at GlassCraft, and Janelle’s Truck Body.
An Army veteran, he served during the Korean War. He was a member of the North Smithfield VFW.
He is survived by one son, James Metivier of Missouri; and his brother-in-law, Raymond Depault of Albion. He was the brother of the late Leo Metivier, Oliva Metivier, Herve Metivier, Marie Dancause and Theresa Tynik.
A committal service, with military honors will be held Monday, May 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 259 West Wrentham Road, Cumberland. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
