NORTH SMITHFIELD – Thomas L. Green, 68, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence after battling cancer with strength and resilience. He built a life and family with his loving wife, Eileen (O'Hara) Green. Born in Everett, MA, he was a son of Betty (Jaynes) Green of Peabody, MA and the late William Green.
Thomas grew up in Peabody, MA, where he developed an early appreciation for hard work and craftsmanship. He entered the trades at a young age and quickly discovered a lifelong passion for working with his hands. A skilled and dedicated professional, Tom became a master electrician and took great pride in his work. Over the course of his career, he worked in a variety of industrial and technical settings, ultimately spending the majority of his years working for biotechnology companies. He was respected not only for his technical expertise, but for the camaraderie he shared with fellow tradesmen.
Outside of his work, Tom embraced a wide range of hobbies and simple pleasures. He enjoyed playing darts and billiards, camping and fishing, and was always happiest when he had a project to complete or a meal to prepare for those he loved. A devoted New England sports fan, he could often be found cheering on the Patriots and Celtics. Known for his friendly and outgoing nature, Tom had a gift for conversation and could strike up a chat with anyone—whether a lifelong friend or a stranger in a restaurant or hardware store.
Of all the roles he held in life, Tom was most proud to be a grandfather. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, especially on family vacations. He loved playing card and board games with them, always keeping a watchful eye to ensure the games were played fair and square.
Along with his wife Eileen and his mother Betty, he is survived by his two children, Alanna Iacobbo and her husband Joseph of Cranston and Dominic Green and his wife Carli of Warwick; two sisters, Debra Moore of Bradford, MA and Cindy DiOrio of Peabody, MA; four grandchildren, Jack, Luca, Levi and Owen; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 4:00–7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
