Suzanne G. Silva, 79, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano “Tony” Scetta and the late Mary J. (Lemieux) Scetta. She was formerly the wife of the late Fernando B. Silva (from 1967 to 1982).
Suzanne grew up in Providence. Over the years, she worked as a hairdresser at Biarritz Beauty Salon in Pawtucket, an assembly laborer at three manufacturing companies: Sturdy Lantern in North Attleboro, Superior Plastics in Cumberland, and Teknor Apex in Pawtucket; and a data entry operator at both Data Plus in Pawtucket and AMS Imaging in Warwick.
Suzanne was a devoted mother and grandmother that dedicated her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her friends, and her dogs.
Suzanne’s interests included genealogy, watching history documentaries (especially on the British monarchy) and reality television programs, reading books (especially biographies), visiting the public library, and enjoying trips to the ocean.
Suzanne is survived by her two loving sons, Steven Silva of Cumberland, and Kenneth Silva and his wife, Rebecca, of Cumberland; one grandson, Nicholas Silva; her sister Lydia Wild and her husband Donald of Seekonk, Massachusetts; her life partner Frederick Bankosky of Cumberland; and her cousins: Ann Marie Manocchio, her husband Michael, their son Adam and his wife Amber of West Warwick; Elaine Ferreira of Cumberland; Robert Voas of North Smithfield; and Lorraine Bills of Peoria, Arizona.
Suzanne’s life celebration and burial will be private. Calling hours respectfully omitted. Arrangements entrusted to Bellows Funeral Chapel, Lincoln.
