Woonsocket - Suzanne T. (Benoit) Fontaine, 73, formerly of Woonsocket, died Friday, September 12, 2025 at Saint Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the devoted companion of Leo Roy.
Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Emmanuel and Lucille (Loiselle) Benoit, she had resided in Woonsocket for most of her life, before moving to North Smithfield.
Suzanne worked as a certified nursing assistant at Haven Health Care Center, Greenville before retiring. She loved to spend time with her family, and enjoyed crocheting.
In addition to her companion, she is survived by two sons, Timothy R. Fontaine, and his wife Lynn, of North Providence, and Michael C. Fontaine, and his wife Laurie, of Woonsocket; two sisters, Theresa Vilandre of Manville, and Margaret Adam of Cumberland; one brother, Roger Benoit of Palm Bay, Florida; three grandchildren, Olivia Fontaine, Maria Fontaine, and James Fontaine; her "adopted grandson", Elijah Lara; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Paul S. Benoit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Saint James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, would be appreciated.
