Shirley A. (Davis) Ronan

Shirley A. (Davis) Ronan 89 of North Providence passed away on August 10th, 2024, which was unexpected, but peaceful. Her 90th birthday party was to be held that afternoon with family and friends. It was supposed to be a surprise, but instead she passed to be with the Lord and her late husband Edward T. Ronan. The party changed meaning from a Birthday to a Celebration of Life.

Shirley was born in Rhode Island on August 13, 1934, to Melita (Davis) Jackson and Willian Davis. She grew up in Lincoln and was admired by her family and many friends. Shirley was the sister of the late Barbara (Daniel) Crimmins and Wendy Ahearn. She was employed by The Salvation Army for 30 years in finance. Shirley with husband Ed volunteered for many years in programs for under-privileged youths that enriched their lives forever by instilling Christianity and kindness.

Shirley leaves her loving family, Sharlene (Allen) Moyer of Reading PA, Cynthia (Stephen, PhD) Jordan of Narragansett, RI and Christine (Daniel) Bullington of Wixom, MI. She adored her grandchildren Kathrine Downing, Esq. (Ben Vereen), Marilynn (Mark, MD) DeLuca, Michael Turcone, Stuart Bullington, Lindsay Moyer, John (Cara) Bullington and step-grandchild Joslynn PhD (Hugo) Faustino. She is also survived by her nephew Kenneth (Julie) Crimmins and her seven sweet and entertaining great grandchildren.

A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Bellows Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
