Sandra J. (Huntoon) Straznickas

Pawtucket - Sandra J. (Huntoon) Straznickas, 67, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at The Miriam Hospital, Providence.

Born in Southern California, a daughter of the late Richard and Mildred (Brennan) Huntoon, Sandra resided in Rhode Island for almost her entire life. She worked as an optician for VisionWorks, Franklin, Mass., for over twenty years.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Straznickas; her son, Nile Straznickas and his wife Jackie; two sisters, Peggy Tolan and Carol Gabriele; and three grandsons, Conor Straznickas and Link and Gage Potter.

Sandra was an incredibly kindhearted woman with an open and generous soul. Her grandsons were the center of her world. She devoted herself completely to being a loving and supportive grandmother, and told endless stories about her grandbabies to anyone who would listen. She had a unique personality that would make anyone smile. She would lovingly refer to Ashley as her "favorite daughter," Nile as her "favorite son," Jackie as her "favorite daughter in law," because she only had one of each.

Sandra also had a special place in heart for cats and a passion for supporting cat rescues.

Sandra will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. The stories she would share time and time again will be affectionately remembered. Her life was a gift, and her memory will continue to be cherished with gratitude and adoration.
