Lincoln - Salvatore "Sal" J. Maggiacomo, 95, of Lincoln, died peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Notarantonio) Maggiacomo, with whom he celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary on September 6th.
Born in Cranston, a son of the late Salvatore and Adeline (Caporicci) Maggiacomo, he had resided in North Providence for many years, before moving to Lincoln twenty years ago. He was the son-in- law of Guy and Grace Notarantonio.
Mr. Maggiacomo was a banking executive at Greater Providence Deposit & Trust, retiring in 1991 as Executive Vice President.
An avid golfer into his 90's, Sal was a member of Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln for over fifty years. Sal and Ann spent many wonderful winters with lifelong friends and family in Ft. Lauderdale and Naples, Florida. He also enjoyed reading, playing the piano, fishing, boating and skiing at Loon Mountain. He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Albion. A U.S. Army veteran, he proudly served his country during peacetime following World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four devoted children; Thomas Maggiacomo (Elise) of Greenville, Paula Paolino (James) of East Greenwich, James Maggiacomo (Cheryl) of Cranston, and Steven Maggiacomo (Jennifer) of Westwood, Mass. He was the cherished grandfather of Alissa, Matthew, Robert, Christina, David and Michael Maggiacomo, James and Laura Paolino, Leah Arduino and Rebecca Love. "Papa Sal" was adored by his seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Maggiacomo and Richard Maggiacomo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial will follow in St. Ambrose Cemetery, Albion. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
