Ruth A. (Dube) Deschenes

Lincoln - Ruth A. (Dube) Deschenes, 83, of Wake Robin Road, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the home of her daughter.  She was the former wife of the late Raymond J. Deschenes and Alfred H. Robertson.

Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late August J. Dube and Martha (Greer) Freebairn, she had lived in Cumberland for over thirty years before moving to Lincoln twelve years ago.

Mrs. Deschenes was a licensed practical nurse at the former Woonsocket Hospital before retiring.  She was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School.

Ruth loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.  She was an excellent cook, and always tended to her vegetable and flower gardens.  She loved dancing and square dancing with her former husband Ray.  She bowled for many years at Darlington Lanes, and loved watching figure skating and the Red Sox on television, and loved going to games at Fenway Park.  She was very skilled with crafts, particularly needlework and sewing.  She was a parishioner at Christ Church, Lincoln.

She is survived by one daughter, Dawn M. Bishop, and her husband Robert, of Lincoln; one son, Guy R. Deschenes, and his wife Fernanda, of Willamantic, CT; one grandson, Scott R. Bishop, and his fiancée Heather Fontaine; and her niece and nephews, Ralph Thompson, Chuck Thompson, Patricia MacLean, Neil Blount, Robert Blount, and David Blount; and three great nephews.  She was the mother of the late Scott A. Robertson, and the sister of the late Irene M. Thompson and Grace D. Blount.
