Roland A. Lafond

Manville - Roland A. Lafond, 88, of Old River Road, died Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.  He was the beloved husband of the late Doris M. (Costigan) Lafond.

Born in Manville, a son of the late Joseph and Albertine (Laliberte) Lafond, he was a lifelong resident of Manville.

Mr. Lafond was the owner of the J.C. Lafond Company, Manville.

He was a member of the Enrico Caruso Society, Manville, the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks, B.P.O.E., Cercle Laurier and the Italian Workingman’s Club, Woonsocket.  He was the founder and President of the former Manville Stars Hockey Club.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Fischbach of Manville, Elaine Remillard of Pawtucket; two sons, Dennis Lafond of Manville, and Michael Lafond of North Smithfield; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his beloved dog Bodhi.  He was the father of the late Marie Lafond, and the brother of the late Clemence Lafond.
