He began his life in the Woodsville, NH area as the second of seven children. At the age of three, he and his family moved to MA, living in three different areas of the state before eventually settling in Portsmouth, RI when he was 11. He graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1969. While still in high school, he started working for a furniture store and through the years, assumed different roles within the business including owning stores in RI, MA and PA and connecting hotels and motels who wanted to sell their furniture to buy new, or purchase good, used items from others to renovate. It seemed that furniture was in his blood. He truly desired to do the work of the Lord and became very active in different ministries within his church for many years! He also loved to help those, who in their later years, could no longer help themselves and took on the role of healthcare representative for his grandfather, mother, great uncle, great aunt and aunt. He was, for sure, a very dear and caring soul who will be greatly missed!
He was preceded in death by his parents, two of his brothers, Rodney and Randall Bringhurst and second wife Lenness (Mimi) Bringhurst.
He is survived by his two children, Dawn Belanger (Vincent) of Washington Depot, CT and Rory Bringhurst (Kimberly) of Middlebury, CT and their mother Linda Shuhi of Litchfield, CT; two grandchildren, Mariah Stoughton and Camdyn Bringhurst and one great grandchild, Sofia Stoughton; four siblings, Denice Stoughton (Mark) of Woodbury, CT, Robert Bringhurst of Middletown, RI, Richard Bringhurst (Kelly) of North Kingstown, RI and Russell Bringhurst of Stephens City, VA and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
