Lincoln - Robert F. Rounds, Sr., 83, of Reservoir Avenue, died Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Affectionately known as "Poppy" to his family and friends, he was the loving husband of Patricia (Conway) Rounds, to whom he enjoyed sixty-two years of marriage.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Leonard E. and Helen (Baker) Rounds, he had resided in Lincoln for over sixty years.
Mr. Rounds worked as a carpenter for over fifty years at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, before retiring. He was a graduate of Pawtucket Vocational High School.
Poppy enjoyed camping and traveling to the beach and dancing. His family was the center of his world, and he was always in attendance for his grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals and Unified sports and Challenger events. He was a foster parent to twenty-two children, and was proudly awarded "Foster Parent of the Year". He was a parishioner of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, Pawtucket.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Holly-Ann Goudreau and her husband Robert, of Lincoln; two sisters, Janice Vincent of Cumberland and Sandra Laboissiere of Lincoln; two brothers, Leonard E. Rounds, Jr. of East Providence and Gary Rounds of Taunton, Mass.; four grandchildren, Crystal Goudreau, Kelly Goudreau, Robby Goudreau and Kortney Goudreau; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Robert F. Rounds, Jr. and Bonnie-Jean Rounds.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 9:00 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Requiem Eucharist at 10:00 AM in Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
