Johnston – Robert L. Reynolds, Sr., 89, of Hartford Avenue, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary J. (Mooney) Reynolds.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Lester and Dorothy (Cahill) Reynolds, he had lived in Johnston for many years.
Mr. Reynolds worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters, Local 251, for many years before retiring.
He was an avid football fan, and loved watching the New England Patriots with his sons, Joe and Mike, always wearing his favorite Patriots jacket and hat. He enjoyed good food and dining at restaurants, liked watching Two and a Half Men and movies, especially westerns; and especially loved family gatherings at his daughter Debra’s house. He was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, North Providence.
He is survived by three daughters, Debra Shadoian of Chepachet, Diane Drew of Johnston, and Brenda Reynolds-Benoit of Johnston; three sons, Michael Reynolds of Johnston, Joseph Reynolds of Johnston, and Robert A. Reynolds of Florida; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Robert L. Reynolds, Jr. and Anthony J. Reynolds; stepfather of the late Jacqueline Davies and Keith Provensil; and brother of the late Elmer Reynolds, Thomas Reynolds, Dolores Ferrarie and Dorothy Cahill.
His funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated. Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
