Lincoln - Lt. Robert E. Ogle, PFD ret., 77, of Rosewood Drive, died Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Buonanni) Ogle. Mr. & Mrs. Ogle would have celebrated their fifty-fifth anniversary this March.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Everett and Anna (Moran) Ogle, he had lived in Lincoln for most of his life, wintering in Fort Myers, Florida.
Robert was a firefighter for the Pawtucket Fire Department for thirty years, retiring as a lieutenant fifteen years ago. He was the owner of E.J. Ogle & Son Painting.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Fourth Infantry of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Robert was a proud veteran and the stories he would tell demonstrated is strength and honor.
Robert loved being with family, and puttering around his house as he was always finding a job to do. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, and enjoyed the music of Jimmy Buffett and spending time on the beach.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother and friend. His love will live on in his beloved wife, Linda, his two daughters, Robin Adams of Coventry, and Randi Skodras, and her husband Robert, of Lincoln; his son, Robert E. Ogle, Jr., and his wife Jennifer, of Cumberland; two sisters, Julia Wold of Scituate and Karen Zuercher of Smithfield; and eight grandchildren(Dean Jr, Payton, Taylor, Robert Jr, Ryan, Phoenix, Gabriel, & Bella).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10:00 am in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Thomas and staff from the Cancer treatment center in Lincoln for their support and care.
