Lincoln - Robert "Bob" C. Matkowski, 61, of Lincoln, died Monday, March 17, 2025 at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Theresa E. (Woloszynski) Matkowski, with whom he shared thirty-four years of marriage, and was the loving father to his son, Michael J. Matkowski for twenty-six years.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late John and Gloria (Dantino) Matkowski, he was raised in Blackstone, Mass., and lived in Lincoln for the last twenty-six years.
Bob worked as a Manager of Member Communications for the CVS Caremark Corporation. Trained as an accountant, he was a graduate of Bryant College ('85) and previously worked at Textron.
Bob was a loving husband and father, with his family being very important to him. He attended countless school activities and sports for his son - including field trips, campouts, and band trips. With his wife, he was a Cub Scout Den Leader with Pack 1 Manville and assisted Boy Scout Troop 711 Albion.
He loved history, gardening, bowling, and fishing. He took special pride in his lush, green lawn and garden. His humor and smile lit up the room and uplifted those around him.
He was a frequent blood donor throughout his life and gave the gift of a prolonged life to two others through organ donation. Bob will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Theresa, he is survived by one son, Michael Matkowski of Lincoln; two brothers, John Matkowski, and his wife, Frances of South Windsor, CT, and David Matkowski and his wife Lori of North Smithfield; mother-in-law, Filomena Campbell of North Providence; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His funeral will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 9:45 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
