Pawtucket - Robert M. Wallace, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (Stewart) Wallace, with whom he enjoyed sixty years of marriage.
Born in Central Falls, the son of the late Samuel L. and Henrietta (King) Wallace. He lived in Pawtucket for many years. He was a graduate of Central Falls High School, Class of 1957, the University of Rhode Island, and Bridgewater State University.
Mr. Wallace was an educator in the Town of Cumberland for thirty-five years, serving as a teacher, guidance counselor, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent. He later served as the interim principal/superintendent for five years at Capt. Isaac Paine Elementary School in Foster. He was a recipient of the Milken National Educator Award.
Bob was a President of the Pawtucket Fairlawn Little League, was a member of the R.I. Middle School Principals Association and was a President of the R.I. Middle School Interscholastic League. In 2008, he was inducted into the Central Falls High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
He was a lifelong member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Central Falls where he served as Sunday School superintendent, and Calvin Presbyterian Church in Cumberland where he served on the Session and was an usher and greeter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert M. Wallace, Jr., Andrew S. McCauley-Wallace (William) and John S. Wallace (Holly); three grandchildren, James S. Wallace, Elizabeth F.W. Prunier (Drew) and Kristopher N. Wallace; and one great granddaughter, Emerson F. Prunier. He was the brother of the late M. Caroline Wallace.
Family and friends are invited and may attend visiting hours on Friday, December 5 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. All are invited to attend the memorial service which will follow at 11:00 AM in Calvin Presbyterian Church, 126 Angell Road, Cumberland.
