Lincoln - Robert A. Caranci, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was the loving husband of Joanne (Pereira) Caranci, to whom he had been married for forty-five years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Angelo and Rose (Damiani) Caranci, he spent the last thirty-two years of his life in Lincoln and previously resided in Johnston. Bob graduated from the University of Rhode Island.
After graduating, Bob embarked on a thirty-two year career at the Providence Station of the United States Postal Service, from which he retired from in 2009.
Possessing many skills and talents, Bob built his residences in both Johnston and Lincoln. He remodeled and enhanced his daughters' houses. He took pride in his ability to provide beautiful homes for his family.
Bob found immense joy in spending quality time with his family, being a phenomenal cook, and exploring the world through travel and hiking. For the last decade, he discovered a passion for ballroom dancing alongside his wife, Joanne.
A proud veteran, Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Kirkbrae Country Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jillian Moreau, and her husband Rodney of North Attleborough, Mass., and Caitlin Caranci, and her partner John-Peter Garzone, of Smithfield; his cherished grandsons, Matthew and Michael Moreau, who brought him immeasurable joy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 am in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
