Cumberland – Richard W. Dohring, 55, of Pollett Street, died Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Miriam Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of thirty-two years of Cheryl (Lefebvre) Dohring.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late George W. and M. Jean (MacQueen) Dohring, he was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Mr. Dohring worked as an executive director of an assisted living facility before retiring. He was and a graduate of Bryant College, Smithfield.
An avid golfer, he played many years in the Ditch Diggers Golf League at Stone-E-Lea Golf Course. He was a member of the R.I. Assisted Living Association, and a former member of the Woonsocket Jaycees.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Courtney Stock, and her husband Matthew, of Cumberland; one son, Zachary Dohring, and his wife Brittany, of Cumberland; two sisters, Nancy Lord of Lincoln, and Cheryl Simanski of Cumberland; one granddaughter, Norah Dohring; and several adored nieces and nephews..
His funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Wednesday, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the American Lung Association, 260 West Exchange Street, Providence, R.I. 02903 would be appreciated.
