Richard Shaw Obituary

Pawtucket - Richard A. Shaw, 88, of Port Orange, Florida, and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away on October 30, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Valentine) Shaw.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Arthur and Jane (Callahan) Shaw, he had lived in Pawtucket, Cumberland and Coventry, before moving to Florida, settling in New Smyrna Beach.

Richard worked as a sales agent in the food industry, and as a sales person for Normandin Chevrolet and Gilbert Pontiac/Cadillac, Woonsocket, retiring in 1997. He graduated from Johnson & Wales University in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in business.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served his country the Korean War era. Richard was a member of the Am Vets in Edgewater, Fl. He loved to travel and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the White Eagles Golf League at Chemawa Golf Club, Attleboro, Mass and the Edgewater Landing Golf League.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ralph Shaw, Ronald Shaw, Margaret Gaskell and Dorothy Lobello.

His funeral will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
