Cumberland - Richard J. Palazzini, 79, of Circledale Drive, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Paula (Guglielmino) Palazzini. Mr. & Mrs. Palazzini had been married for forty years.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Levio Palazzini and Dora (Correri) Palazzini Collamati, he had lived in Cumberland for the past thirty-eight years, and summered in Narragansett for many years.
Mr. Palazzini was a school teacher and guidance counselor at Woonsocket Jr. High School for thirty-one years, retiring in 1993. He was a graduate of Providence College and earned his Master’s Degree in Guidance Couseling from Rhode Island College, and was a member of the American Federation of Teachers.
Dick was an avid golfer and loved to coach golf. He organized the first golf team at Woonsocket High School. He loved all sports, especially football, beach living by the ocean, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karen Palazzini, and her husband Eric Loomis, of Mobile, Alabama, and Kathy Linton, and her husband Stephen of North Smithfield; one son, Michael Palazzini of Lincoln; one sister, Paula Tutalo, and her husband Ernest, of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Michael Palazzini, Jr, and his wife Jenny, of Middletown, and Lauren Haynes, and her husband Alex, of Warwick, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. His funeral and burial will be private. Social distancing will be followed and all guests will be required to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Narragansett Lions Club, P.O.
