Ocala, Florida - Richard P. Lambert, 91, formerly of Woonsocket, died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Bridgewater Park Assisted Living in Ocala. He was the beloved husband of the late Gabrielle (Mandeville) Lambert.
Born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Joseph and Cordelia (Nadeau) Lambert, he lived in Woonsocket for most of his life before moving to Ocala, FL twenty years ago.
Richard "Dick" worked as a skilled electrician for General Motors in Framingham, MA before retiring in 1989.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, Richard had a passion for travel. South America, Hawaii, Alaska and Barcelona were a few of his favorites. Richard also had a love for biking, softball, dancing and shuffleboard. He was an avid bowler at Walnut Hill Bowl for many years, and led a pitch league called "Memory Lanes" in Woonsocket.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956, and was a member of the St. Joseph's Veterans Association in Woonsocket, RI. After his profession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior, Richard became a member of the Ocean State Baptist Church, Smithfield, RI. His church membership transferred to Friendship Baptist Church and South Point Church after his move to Ocala, Fl.
Richard had a bright and energetic personality and was known for his ability to sense the needs of others. He touched many lives with his generosity and passion for life! He also held to the principle of hard work, honesty, and love for his neighbor.
He is survived by three daughters, Jacquie Berube and husband Glen of North Providence, RI; Nancy Dansereau and husband Steve of Goose Creek, SC; and Patricia Boucher and husband Jeff of Ocala, FL; one son, David Lambert and wife Michelle of Ocala, FL; three sisters, Simone Dutremble of North Smithfield, RI; Muriel Mitchell of Hopedale, MA.; and Claudette Grenier of Pascoag, RI; nine grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a former wife, Barbara Howard of Ocala, FL. He was the brother of the late Wilfred Lambert, Marie Gamache and Georgette Desautels.
A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Jean-Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.
