Richard Duquette Obituary

Richard Duquette, age 89, of New Port Richey, FL & Lincoln, RI died January 28, 2025.

Born in Central Falls, son to Alphonse Duquette and Blanche Duquette. Richard married Gloria Ponton of Central Falls, RI on June 9, 1962. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by Alphonse Duquette (Father), Blanche Duquette (Mother), Raymond Duquette (Brother), Lillian Bechard (Sister) and Theresa McFarlane (Sister).

He is survived by sisters Aline Peters and Claire Malky, his wife Gloria, his sons Richard Duquette Jr and wife Lisa, Gary Duquette and wife Kerri, His four Grandchildren; Nathan and wife Angelica, Sydney Bemis and husband Connor, Noah and wife Abigail and Tyler Duquette. Two Great Grandchildren; Bryson Bemis and Chase Duquette.

Friends and family will remember Richard as an extremely hard worker. He loved joining many friends and contractors at breakfast establishments in Lincoln prior to going to work each day.  Richard will be forever remembered by his jovial demeanor and his fun-loving laugh.

Richard lived a long and happy life, especially loved spending many summers at their home on Long Lake in Bridgton, Maine. After retirement from a long career owning and operating Duquette's Floor Resurfacing and Finishing company which was started in 1925 by his father, Richard and Gloria retired to their home in New Port Richey, FL until returning to RI in October, 2024. He will be forever loved and forever missed.

Richard was a proud veteran of the US Marines Corps serving from September, 1953 to September, 1956, honorably discharged.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday February 1, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a prayer service to follow at 4:00 PM.
