Pawtucket - Richard E. DeBlois, Jr. 75, of Pawtucket, died Friday, May 24, 2024 at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Richard E. and Marjorie (Simister) DeBlois, he had lived in Pawtucket for most of his life.
Mr. DeBlois worked as a truck driver for Blackstone Supply Co., and a project worker at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. For the past thirty-five years, he was the resident sexton at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Pawtucket, and volunteered at the homeless shelter at the church. A U.S. Army veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by three daughters, Renee Burns of Scituate, Sherry DeBlois of Providence and Christine DeBlois of New Hampshire; six brothers, Gary DeBlois of Central Falls, Alan DeBlois of Pawtucket, Joseph DeBlois of Coventry, John DeBlois of Providence, Robert DeBlois of West Greenwich, and William DeBlois of Cumberland; and four grandchildren, Brady, Makayla, Allie and Dlani. He was the father of the late Richard P. DeBlois and the brother of the late Dorothy "Dottie" Dupre.
A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 am in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
