Cumberland - Rev. Betsy A. (Evans) Lesieur, 80, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, July 18, 2025, at Stillwater Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Greenville. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Lesieur.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Irving and Elsie (Partington) Evans, she had resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
Rev. Lesieur served as a Deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island, serving at Christ Church, Lincoln, and Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, Pawtucket, and served as the Archdeacon of the Diocese. She also worked as the Bereavement & Aftercare Coordinator at Bellows Funeral Chapel, Lincoln for many years.
She enjoyed traveling, loved helping people and serving God, and most of she loved her family, especially her two granddaughters who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Balay, and her husband Paul, of North Attleborough, Mass.; her son Andrew E. Lesieur, and his wife Michelle, of Georgia; and two grandchildren, Peyton and Emersyn. She was the sister of the late Carolyn Deming and Sandra Evans.
A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Christ Church, 1643 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Private burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Christ Church.
