Manville - Raymond R Forget, Jr. 78, of Manville, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 4, 2023.
Born in Woonsocket, RI he was a devoted husband of 55 years to Lorraine (Dubois) Forget. He is survived by their son Michael (Debbie) Forget of Lincoln, RI; his grandchildren Kevin (Cara) Forget of Norwalk, CT and Christopher (Allison) Forget of Manville, RI, as well as three beautiful great grandchildren; Sophia, Leah, and Jaxson. As well as his nephew Keith (Christine) Forget and their two daughters, Hannah and Elle of Methuen, Mass.
Ray graduated from Mt. Saint Charles in 1964. Following his graduation he served as an aircraft electrician in the United States Air Force until 1968, when honorably discharged. He was employed by various electrical companies which included Electric Boat, AT Cross, and Johnson and Wales University until his retirement in 2014.
Ray was an avid member of his community. He was frequently found making clam cakes at the church's carnival. He was Captain of the Manville Fire Dept, following the years as Captain he became a warden and served on the board. Raymond was extremely involved the in Boy Scouts of America with his two Grandsons. He also really enjoyed traveling in his camper to Disney World with his family.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial, with military honors will follow in Saint James Cemetery, Manville. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Raymond's name to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016-5337.
