MANVILLE- Pierre J Andeweg, 84, of Manville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of the late Laurette (Chicoine) Andeweg. Born in Indonesia, he was a son of the late Cornelius J. Andeweg and Jeanne E. (Van Bennekom) Andeweg.
Pierre emigrated to the United States of America in 1959 from The Netherlands and became a proud U.S. Citizen. He graduated in 1975 with a Bachelors's Degree from Northeastern University. He was a computer engineer and salesman for many years and got to travel the world. After retiring in 1998 from Mitsubishi Electronics he enjoyed life to its fullest. Some of his favorite pastimes included fixing/building computers and doing yard work. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his beloved grandchildren and supporting their interests and activities. Affectionately known as "Dada" to his family and friends he was a kind and compassionate man always willing to help out in any situation. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Laurette of 52 years, parents and his brother and sister, Frits and Maud.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Kim Andeweg and her husband, Scott Langton of Cumberland and his cherished grandchildren, Sawyer and Haegan Langton.
A Celebratory Mass will be held at a later date.Callings hours respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Lifespan Cancer Institute P.O. Box H Providence RI 02901 would be appreciated.
