Lincoln - Peter A. Gagnon, 78, of Progress Street, died Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at home. He was the loving husband of the late Anna G. "Jerrie" (Nee) Gagnon.
Born in Lincoln, a son of the late Maurice and Luella (Hatch) Gagnon, he resided in Lincoln for most of his life.
Sgt. Maj. Gagnon served in the United States Army for twenty-six years, retiring in 1993. He did two tours in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.
He is survived by his daughter, Piper E. Campbell of Lincoln; his two sons, Col. (R) Robert A. Gagnon and Michael R. Gagnon, both of Bettendorf, IA; his sister, Nancy E. Pritchard of Carrolton, OH; his brother, Robin Gagnon of Vermont; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 AM.
