Pawtucket - Paul E. Hedberg, 73, of Reservoir Avenue, died Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Lorrain) Hedberg, with whom he will rejoin at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery..
Born in Providence, a son of the late Carl W. and Jennie (Johnson) Hedberg, he was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
Mr. Hedberg was a graduate of Pawtucket West High School and attended Wagner College and the University of Rhode Island. He worked for many years for the City of Pawtucket at the former Slater Park Zoo, the Traffic Department and the Pawtucket Water Supply Board.
Paul was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Tri-Town Rod & Gun Club, the Federated Club and enjoyed golfing at Stone-E-Lea Golf Club. An Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by two sisters, Karen Van Dyke of Colorado, Karla Hedberg of Pawtucket; one brother, C. Craig Hedberg of Florida; two nephews, Dale Van Dyke and Andrew Van Dyke; one step-daughter, Tina Kashuba of Dumont, N.J.; one step-son, Robert Ballora; and three step-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Friday August 19, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
