North Smithfield - Paul R. Hazard, 69, of North Smithfield, died Friday, April 12, 2024, at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of twenty-seven years of Karen (Leddy) Hazard.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late W. Russell and M. Ernestine (Howard) Hazard, he had lived in North Smithfield for the past thirty-seven years.
Paul was a graduate of the University of Rhode island, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Plant & Soil Science. He went on to work for many years as a salesman in the lawn care industry before retiring. In his free time, he reveled in the simple pleasures of life - tending to his beloved vegetable and flower gardens and was an exceptional cook.
A man of deep faith, Paul was a valued member of the St. John the Evangelist Church community and a participant in the Men of St. Joseph group.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Oliver Hazard of Providence; two sisters, Judith Abbate, and her late husband Denis, of North Smithfield, and Christine Colletto, and her husband Tony, of Lincoln; one brother, Thomas Hazard, and his wife Daniela, of Lincoln; and several nieces, nephews and great nephews.
