Patricia Boyd Reid Obituary

Providence – Patricia A. “Patty” (Boyd) Reid, 68, of Providence, died Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence surrounded by her loving children.

Born in Tonowanda, New York, Patty was the daughter of Helen (McCarthy) Boyd of Lincoln and the late Bernard Boyd. She was the former wife of the late Thomas Henry Reid, Jr.

Patty worked as a sales professional in the tile industry for thirty years and had lived in Providence for several years.

Patty was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who lived a quiet yet profoundly generous life. She took up little space in the world but gave endlessly of herself—offering love, laughter, and a deep, abiding presence to those around her. She found joy in life’s small wonders: books, music, politics, dancing, and anything whimsical or miniature. Artistic and thoughtful, she was drawn to the ocean, where she found peace, perspective, and inspiration.

Her curiosity was contagious, her humor warm and disarming, and her love of harmless mischief unforgettable. She never took herself too seriously—but she loved fiercely, listened deeply, and lived with an open heart. To be loved by Patty was to be truly seen.

She leaves behind family and friends who miss her more than words can say, and who remain forever grateful for the memories, joy, and love she gave so freely.

She is survived by two daughters, Allison Patricia Reid and her husband Kevin Perreault, of Pawtucket, and Molly Ellen Caruolo and her husband Andrew of East Providence; one son Nathan Thomas Reid of Lincoln; three sisters, Nancy Cullion of Cumberland, Margaret “Meg” Bernardi of Hollywood, Florida, and Jane King of Wakefield; one brother, James Boyd of Wakefield; and three grandchildren, Aiden Thomas Pereira Reid, Jack Andrew Caruolo and Isabel Patricia Caruolo.  She was the sister of the late Bernard “B.J.” Boyd Jr.
