CUMBERLAND - Pasqualina (Raus) Polidoro, 88, of Cumberland, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Polidoro, who were married at Santuario Maria Santissima Della Civita in Itri, Italy. They had been married for 55 years.
Born in Minturno, Italy, she was the youngest of nine children of the late Michaelangelo and Concetta Raus. Mrs. Polidoro worked for Pitney-Bowes in Stamford, CT as an assembler before retiring.
She is survived by her loving son, Frank, and his wife Paulette who was like a daughter to her, of Cumberland; and two grandchildren, Frank Michael and Angela Marie.
Known to her family and friends as Lina, she was a true woman of faith and devoted follower of the Blessed Virgin Mother and the teachings of Padre Pio. Family meant to world to her, especially when she was cooking and baking large meals on Sundays and holidays.
Lina and Mario were avid gardeners and maintained a large fruit and vegetable garden where they grew a variety of tomatoes, peppers beans, squash, cucumbers, and figs among others that she used in all of her homemade meals.
Caring and spending time with her grandchildren was foremost to Lina. She especially enjoyed playing with them and attending her granddaughter’s dance recitals. She also encouraged them to excel in school and taught them the value of a good education for future success.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Entombment will be private. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
