Lincoln – Norma (Bruni) Comastra, 85, of Lincoln passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at home. She was the wife of the late John P Comastra Jr., with whom she shared 52 wonderful and loving years.
Born in Woonsocket, and raised in Manville, a daughter of the late Bruno and Virginia (Mei) Bruni, she had lived in Woonsocket, for many years before returning to Lincoln 12 years ago.
Mrs. Comastra was a member of the Lincoln Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, making puzzles, going on long trips, and bingo. She had a sweet and loving nature and enjoyed helping anyone who needed it. She dedicated her life to raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren along with working as a nanny for many years. Her compassion was also extended to her family pets.
She is survived by her loving children, Sandra Shipp and her husband Russell of Lincoln, and Gary Comastra and his wife Monique of Woonsocket; her brother, Ronnie Bruni and his wife Yvette of Manville; her son-in-law, Michael Notorangelo of Woonsocket; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Susan Notorangelo and the sister of the late Robert Bruni and Nancy Medeiros.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, October 12 at 8:30 A.M. from the Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Her burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
