Cranston - Noel A. Smock, 79, formerly of Cranston, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the VA Medical Center, Providence. He was the loving husband of the late Joyce (Mendes) Smock.
Born in Lynwood, California, a son of the late Noel and Beatrice (Silva) Smock, he had resided in Cranston for many years before moving to Bristol.
Mr. Smock was a chef for various nursing homes and restaurants throughout his career.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served three tours during the Vietnam War in the Construction Battalion (SeaBees). He enjoyed slot car racing, as well as fishing.
He is survived by his niece, Valerie Quebec of Chepachet; and several cousins.
His funeral will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
