Cumberland - Dr. Nicholas Wozny, 91, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 26, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Alexandra (Scherban) Wozny. He was the son of the late Stanley and Anna (Hawryshkewicz) Wozny.
Dr. Wozny practiced as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and published extensive research as a PhD in the field of ichthyology while in Ukraine. He continued veterinary lab work after immigrating to the United States.
Nicholas was a devoted parishioner of Saint Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Woonsocket, finding comfort and strength in his spiritual life. He enjoyed reading, traveling, tending to his garden, and especially spending time with family.
Nicholas will be remembered for his compassion, resilience, and the thoughtful, gentle way he approached life.
He is survived by his three loving children: Luba Woodbine and her husband Ken; Yuri Wozny and his fiancée, Leanne; and Roman Wozny and his wife Jocelyn; as well as six cherished grandchildren: Natalia, Kasie, Jocelyn, Nicholas, Cameron, and Chase; and two beloved great-granddaughters, Anna and Hazel.
The calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Saint Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone Street, Woonsocket. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
