Mildred Boyles Obituary

Lincoln - Mildred (Eddleston) Boyles, of Lincoln, RI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residence in West Palm Beach, FL. She was 98 years old. She was truly special and will be forever remembered.

Born in Ashton, RI, on January 31, 1926, Mildred was the daughter of the late Elwin and Amelia (Rushford) Eddleston. She grew up in Fairlawn-Lincoln, RI, alongside her six siblings and attended Tolman High School in Pawtucket, RI. After high school, she worked at Lorraine Mills in Pawtucket before going on to work for the State of Rhode Island School Lunch Program.

Mildred, fondly known as "Millie" to her friends and "Minnie" or "Min" to her family, was known for her kind heart, her upbeat personality, and her love for her family. The great loves of her life were her late husband of 49 years, Kenneth George Boyles of Lincoln, RI, and her only child, her son, Kevan Kenneth Boyles of Palm Beach, FL. She loved them both beyond measure-and she proudly told everyone she encountered. She had an appreciation for life's simple pleasures and a passion for the game of golf in her retirement. She loved to play any version of the game-especially mini-golf and 9 holes-with her 3 granddaughters. Millie was famous for her delicious chocolate cream pie, a family favorite and hit at every gathering. She was as sweet as the pie she is famous for. Millie cherished her friends and family. Every holiday was an excuse to send a card with a heartfelt and handwritten note to her loved ones. She wished happiness and health to all, and always emphasized the importance of being grateful. Her welcoming smile and warm embrace will be deeply missed. She enjoyed her final years at Noreen McKeen, where she made friends quickly and received wonderful care.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Elwin Eddleston, Jr., Clifford Eddleston, Laura Vera Robinson, Helen Vanstone and Hazel Boyles. She is survived by her son, Kevan Boyles (Rosemary Cooney) of Palm Beach, FL, her sister, Barbara Robinson (James), her goddaughter, Debra Robinson Tarinelli, her three grandchildren, Carling Pinckney (Thomas) of West Palm Beach, FL, Sean Gibson (Andrew) of Charlotte, NC, and Shannon Middlebrooks (John) of Palm Beach, FL, her four great-grandchildren, Pierce and Reid Pinckney of West Palm Beach, FL, and Wyatt and Wells Gibson of Charlotte, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00 am in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
