Mary (Demty) Koussa

Narragansett - Mary (Demty) Koussa, 100, of Clarke Road, Narragansett died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Narragansett. She was the wife of the late Z. Jerry Koussa.

   Born in Central Falls, daughter of the late Fargella and Effefe (Kabbaze) Demty. She had lived in Cumberland before spending winters in Florida and summers in Little Compton. She has been a resident of Narragansett since 2008.

   Mrs. Koussa was an employee of Corning Glassworks and then later Stop & Shop where she managed the health and beauty department before retiring in 1983.

   She was a devoted wife, mother and sibling, always putting family first. She was an amazing cook and loved to feed us.

   She is survived by two sons, John Koussa of East Greenwich and Paul Koussa of Cumberland; two daughters Karen Campisani of Narragansett and Donna Condon of South Kingstown. She also leaves a wonderful son-in-law, Louis and two loving daughters-in-law, Kathryn and Pamela. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Melissa, Vanessa, Miranda, Daniel, Gregory, Matthew, Nicholas and Christopher; and 7 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles Demty, Sadie Jarjoura, Olga Assermely Nicholetta, Joseph Demty, Antoinette Keough, Sippie Demty, Sam Demty.

   Her Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10 A..M. in the Church of St. Basil the Great, 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln. Her burial will follow in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 9-10 A.M. at the Church.
