Mary R. (Murphy) Jackson

Cumberland – Mary R. (Murphy) Jackson, 87, of Cumberland, died Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late John C. and Mary O. (Brehio) Murphy, she was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.

Mrs. Jackson worked as an office worker at Standard Transportation, Allied Business Documents, and Saylesville Warehouse before retiring.

She was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland.

She is survived by three daughters, Susan L. Shea, and her late husband William, of Cumberland, Donna A. Holmes, and her husband Robert, of Cumberland, and Christine M. Nigri, and her husband David, of Smithfield, one son, Robert J. Jackson, and his wife Kim, of Smithfield; one sister, Colleen B. Marsland, and her late husband Lenny, of Cumberland; nine grandchildren; and two great grandsons.  She was the grandmother of the late Patrick Holmes.

Her funeral, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland, will be private.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Patrick R.
