Cumberland – Marion (Gibb) Winter, 100, of Cumberland, died Monday, March 2, 2026 at Mount Saint Rita Health Centre, Cumberland, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Clinton R. Marshall and the late Charles “Bud” Winter.
Born in Mansfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late William W. and Beatrice (Daniels) Gibb, she had resided in Cumberland since 1970.
Mrs. Winter was a graduate of New England Deaconess Nursing School, and worked as a registered nurse at the Miriam Hospital, Providence, for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1988.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Emmett and her husband Craig, of Cumberland; her son, David Marshall of Cumberland; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the step-mother of the late Thomas C. Winter; the mother-in-law of the late Paula Breese and Eileen Marshall; and the sister of the late Roberta Briere and William Gibb, Jr.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro, Mass. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
