Marie-Antoinette (Forest) Hannon, aged 104, peacefully passed away at Mount St. Rita Nursing Home. Born in Albion to the late Francois and Zenaide (Descoteaux) Forest, she was the cherished wife of the late Thomas Hannon and later, the late John Maloney. Marie held a special place in her heart for St. Ambrose Church, where she was a lifelong communicant, finding solace and community in her faith.
Marie's vibrant spirit, marked by her quick wit and playful banter, endeared her to all who knew her. She faced life with strength and determination, her feisty demeanor shining through in her response to calls to behave; "there's no fun in it." Her dedication extended beyond her family to her years of service at AT Cross and Automatic Chain, where she made lasting contributions.
Yet, it was her love for her family that truly defined Marie. She found immense joy in simple pleasures like shopping trips, dining out, playing bingo, watching the Red Sox, and spending time with her loved ones. Her 100th birthday celebration with her extended family, and then at the casino in accordance with her wishes, was a testament to her zest for life.
Marie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter as the proud mother of Wayne Hannon and his wife Lise of Lincoln, grandmother of Christopher Hannon and his wife Meghan of Lincoln, Amanda Hannon and her fiancé Brendan of Johnston, and cherished great-granddaughter. In eternity, she rueunites with her late siblings while leaving behind many nieces and nephews. Marie's love will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 8:30 am from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion.
