Manville - Marguerite "Mugs" V. (Moreau) Grasso, 68, of Manville, died Thursday, January 29, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Grasso, Jr.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Marc W. and Gertrude (Labrie) Moreau, she had resided in Manville her entire life.Mrs. Grasso worked as a bookkeeper for Commercial Painting, Inc., Pawtucket before retiring.
She was a tireless volunteer for Special Olympics Rhode Island and was a coach of the North Stars. She enjoyed traveling, whether it was going to the Grand Canyon, going on a cruise, or to a beach house. She was very close with her family, and for many decades, hosted her brothers and sisters and their families for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
She is survived by her children, Joseph M. Grasso and his wife Shaynna Grasso and Elizabeth Grasso, all of Manville; two sisters, Suzanne Brillon and her husband Paul, and Jacqueline Besaw and her companion Lawrence Southwick, all of Manville; three brothers, Laurent Moreau and his wife Susan of Cumberland, Donald Moreau of Cranston, and Rev. Maurice Moreau, OFM, of Rutland, Vermont; two grandsons, Marshall Grasso and Nathan Grasso; and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Moreau and Patricia Moreau, both of Manville. She was the sister of the late David Moreau and Charles Moreau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Saint James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery, Manville. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to Special Olympics Rhode Island, 370 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, RI 02917 would be appreciated.
