Providence – Margarete E. (Dempwulf) Falconer, 1925-2018, of Providence passed away peacefully Sunday, November 4, 2018 at home.
Born in Dortmund Germany, a daughter of the late Franz Heinrich and Pauline (Brunohler) Dempewulf, she had lived in Providence since 1959.
Mrs. Falconer was the manager and caretaker of the household for the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Douglas, Sr. for 34 years before retiring.
She was a member of Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, both in Providence. She was a member and a Past President (1999-2004) of the International Women’s Club and a member of the German-American Society of Pawtucket.
A member of the German Air Force, she was a benefactor of the VFW in the United States.
She leaves no immediate survivors, but is survived by her second cousin Hildegart Beckers and many close friends including the Douglas family, and her best friends, Evelyn Wilkinson and Jeannie Johnson. For the past 4 years, she was under the loving care of her friend Keila Rodriguez and her family and Gloria Dei.
Her Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 445 Elmwood Avenue, Providence. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Falconer’s memory to the Senior Club of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 15 Hayes Street, Providence, RI 02908 would be appreciated.
