Margaret Elizabeth (McMahon) Dolan

WAKEFIELD – Margaret Elizabeth (McMahon) Dolan, 83, of Sherman Road, Wakefield passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family at the home of her daughter in Lincoln. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Dolan, Jr.  Born in New York, NY she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (McManus) McMahon.  She is survived by her two children, William J. Dolan, III (wife Martha) of Saunderstown and Michaela Bridget Dolan of Lincoln; four sisters, Mary Riccio, Jeanette Falcon, Alice Pierce, and Eileen Laferriere; and six cherished grandchildren, Brenna, Benjamin, Emma, Catherine, Colin, and Clare.

Mrs. Dolan was a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse, working for the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) before her retirement.

There were many joys in Margaret's life, including her deep love for her Irish heritage, tending to her garden, and spending time by the ocean. Margaret's greatest joy was helping and caring for others. This was reflected in her years caring for the medical needs of children at the former Children's Center in Providence and, most of all, in the time she shared with her family and loved ones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM in St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4:00–7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Hope Health Hospice would be appreciated.
