M. Madeline (Goucher) Fox

Lincoln - Madeline “Midge” (Goucher) Fox, 99 passed away July 22, 2021 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland, with her children at her side.  She was the wife of the late Eugene F. Fox of Washington DC and the daughter of the late William F. Goucher, Sr and Sarah F. Maguire.

Born in Providence, she lived most of her life in Lincoln. Her mother Sarah passed away shortly after Madeline’s birth and she was raised by her Aunt E. Marion (Goucher) Maytum.

During WWII she worked many hours as a lathe & milling machine operator for the former Taft-Pierce, Woonsocket.

After her marriage to Eugene, their house, like her childhood home with “mom Marion ” became home to many family members  in need of a place to stay, including the late Eddie and Rae Dowling, Madeline loved spending days with her dog Sassy sitting on her glider outdoors & reminiscing with visitors.

She is survived by her three children Edward Fox, and his wife Patricia, Gregory Fox, and his wife Ana and Marion Dale, and her husband, Gregory;  three grandchildren, Eric Fox, Brandan Fox and Shana Marceau;  five great grandchildren, Tanyon Fox, Keian Fox, Anika Marceau, Hudson Fox and Henry Fox; and one sister, SM Ellen “Kate” Maytum.     She was the sister to the late William Goucher, Jr,, C. Thomas Goucher, John Goucher, J. Nelson Goucher, Robert Goucher Sr.,  and  Beatrice Maytum Greene.
