Louise D. (Laplante) Smith

Woonsocket – Louise D. (Laplante) Smith, 63, of Brookhaven Lane, died Monday, October 19, 2020 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.  She was the beloved wife of Gordon Smith.  Mr. & Mrs. Smith had been married for thirty-one years.

Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Rene and Cecile (Trudeau) Laplante, she had been a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Smith worked as an office manager for Ultracision, Ethicon and Endius before retiring.

She enjoyed travelling and watching English television shows with her husband, but her true passion was knitting.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Meredith Dicesare of North Smithfield, one sister, Denise Rowles of Chepachet and Maine; and two grandchildren, Sophia Gregory and Jameson Dicesare.  She was the sister of the late Roger Laplante and Joe Laplante.

Her funeral will be private.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, R.I. 02904 would be appreciated.  Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
